If you have a PS4 Pro, you must connect the Cronus Zen directly to the rear USB port with the supplied short micro-USB cable, otherwise you may experience instability due to inconsistent power quality from the front USB ports.
It's also recommend you use a powered USB hub for consistent results.

PlayStation 4 consoles require an officially licensed PlayStation 4 controller, to Authenticate the Cronus Zen. This is called the 'Auth Controller' and can also be used as the primary gaming controller. This controller MUST NOT be paired to the PS4 console or it will regularly disconnect. See the How to Unpair PS4 Controllers guide below.
Important: Only a wired DUALSHOCK 4 model CUH-ZCT2 (DS4v2) can support headset audio & built-in DS4 speaker (the earlier model CUH-ZCT1 DS4v1 supports Auth but not Audio).
Note: Most third-party licensed PS4 controllers support headset audio when using a USB cable (you can use Bluetooth if connecting your headset to a wired DS4v2 Auth Controller connected to A1 USB port.) There are certain special circumstances, like the Astro C40 and its custom RF Wireless adapter, which is fully supported without the need for a DS4v2 auth controller.

How to Unpair PS4 Controllers

🚫
It is essential that your PS4 Controller is completely unpaired from your PS4 console before setting up with Cronus Zen, otherwise the controller will regularly disconnect. You will need a PlayStation 4 Console for this procedure.
This is also useful if you had previously paired your controller to Zen's Bluetooth, but now wish to use a USB cable.
  1. 1.
Turn on the PlayStation 4 using its power button (do not power on with the controller)
  2. 2.
Connect your PS4 controller directly to the PS4 console using a micro-USB cable and press the PS Button

  3. 3.
After a few seconds the light bar on the PlayStation 4 controller will change to solid BLUE, indicating pairing to the console is complete, and the controller is now unpaired from everything else
  4. 4.
    Go to Settings

  5. 5.
Select the PS4 Controller you wish to unpair and choose "Disconnect"
  6. 6.
Unplug the PS4 controller from the console
  7. 7.
Plug in the short (12") micro-USB cable to the back of the Zen (CONSOLE USB port) and connect the other end to your PS4 console. (PlayStation 4 Pro - connect Cronus Zen to the rear USB port)
  8. 8.
Connect the PS4 controller to Zen's A3 USB Port with a micro-USB cable
  9. 9.
Select the PS4 controller from the devices list again
  10. 10.
    Press the Options button
  11. 11.
    Select "Forget Device"
  12. 12.
    Confirm your selection "OK"
  13. 13.
    Restart your PS4
  14. 14.
    Unplug the wired PS4 controller
  15. 15.
    That's it!
    πŸ˜„
The PS4 controller is now fully unpaired from the PS4 and you're ready to set it up with Cronus Zen.

PS4 Bluetooth Controller & Headset Solution

Headset is not supported over BlueTooth, but do not panic - we've got you covered. Pair a Bluetooth controller to the Zen then connect your favorite headset directly to a Pass-Thru Auth Controller

Example: Scuf Vantage 2 (Bluetooth) to PlayStation 4 Console w/ Headset

Enable Wired Communication

The Cronus Zen controls all data between the console and the controller, including Bluetooth. So the PlayStation 4 has to have Wired Communication enabled in the console's settings.
For the PS4, this option is only available when using a DualShock 4 model CUH-ZCT2 (known as DS4v2).
